FAQs
Where are you getting the data from?
The number of positive cases each day is taken from government sources, and this is then used to calculate the R Rate, Days Until Previous Peak, 60 Day Projection, and Infection Level.
What does the Infection Level mean?
The Infection Level is an indicator of how prevalent the virus currently is within a community; the higher the number of daily cases per population, the higher the Infection Level will be. There are five levels: Low, Moderate, Medium, High, and Critical.
What does the R Rate mean?
The R Rate is the average number of persons an infected person will pass the virus onto. Therefore if the R Rate is 1.0, then each infected person will on average, pass the virus onto 1 other person. Please note, the R Rate is likely to experience large fluctuations when case numbers are very low.
What does 'days until previous peak' mean?
Days Until Previous Peak, is an estimation of how many days it would take to reach the previously recorded, highest number of average daily cases, if the R Rate were to remain at its current rate.
What is the Projection line on the graphs?
This is an estimation, of what could happen to the average daily cases over the next 60 days, if the R Rate were to remain at its curent rate. Please note, sometimes you may not see the full 60 days, if the R Rate is too high.
